TT's hooked.  He cannot solve these games without his deck of cards.  We probably should feel sorry for him.

I think he's scared of those 13x3 climate 7 games I pointed out to him.

And yes, we should probably pity him........but his lack of remorse makes that fairly impossible. 

Pity him??? Why not just continue bullying him?

Because:  a) I don't do that, nor do I think those others of us who are anti-cheating do, either; and b) he's a grown-a** man, living in Switzerland.  He's beyond that, or he would have 'reformed' before now.  He clearly is immune(?) to all attempts to reconcile him.  So the mere fact he cannot have care for the feelings of others, that he can't grasp the harm he's causing others, or apparently worse - that he knows but doesn't care - would for some be grounds for pity.  Lots of adjectives and adverbs could be used.........but he's missing 'something' that would make him more compassionate toward others.  And that 'something', whatever it is, makes him harder to pity.  

More globally.......again.......calling out cheating, or other injustices, wherever they may be encountered, is in no way "bullying".  It's simply fighting for truth, justice and fair play - oftentimes in support of those less able to do it themselves.

"Remorse" -- don't be silly.  I HIGHLY recommend using cards (and taking careful notes) to any player who wants to keep a personal best streak going, and is faced with a difficult deal!!!!!

I am happy, happy, HAPPY with my above win (certainly one of my best of the year)!

If the "system" counts it as a win, then a win it is, imo!!

Yes, they failed to win.  And, they were honest about it. 

If they weren't honest about it, had used a deck of cards, had not counted their loses, your win would have been an 85-85 (assuming 85 players, probably fewer) and you would not have received the elo credit you did.

Therefore, if everybody followed your advice, used cards, kept notes, and posted only wins, you would just be an average player.  The contest would revolve around who could game the system better.

Just look at the many, many losses on my 'Elo' graph.

AND, I wouldn't mind at all if LOTS more players had results as good as mine, especially if they enjoyed it as much as I do!

However, the majority of players don't have enough patience, imo!

Some (speed?) players are even trying to play all of their games in less than a minute.  And, running up large numbers of  losses in the process (and thus distorting the game statistics). 

I have fully bought into the fact that the use of cards is not discouraged by the powers that be on this site. Therefore, a game that is played offline with no retracing of steps is a legit win. 

But, recognizing that there is no UNDO key available for streak play (or any game not played as Anonymous) and there never will be an UNDO button for reasons outlined very clearly (again, by the powers that be), counting a game as a win that required multiple attempts is wrong. Period. The same can be said of counting wins toward Elo when they are actually a losses. No one can police this, but to continually post wins within streak play and to artificially inflate your Elo when multiple attempts were required is total crap. 

This isn't a matter of semantics, Tony/Ellie2 -- it is the clearly stated intent of this site. 

Kudos for your persistence in winning tough games with your system. But two thumbs down for the rest. 

You can call yourself a statistician, but if you corrupt the numbers in your favor, you are a shame to the profession.

Why not just use a solver, Tony? It would be a less archaic method of solving; you would get the same results, and it would save you a lot of time.

I enjoy doing my own thinking!  The cards never, ever move by themselves.

Well, what he's doing, as has been noted many times before, is just making himself and his deck an "analog solver".

I tried going on strike one time...........but he would have none of it!  While he's right that I don't ever "move myself"............it's still kind of insulting, to be used for nefarious purposes!!

As much as anything, Mr. Titanic and his other persona, Ellie2, love attention. A dozen threads updated daily for invented achievements make that clear enough. Fighting with him only feeds the beast, so this is the last time I'll be commenting about him or posting on any of his threads.

One of his latest comments that amused me was his claim that if the Freecell software acknowledges a win, then it's a legitimate win. Let's visit one last parallel to illustrate the moral gymnastics required to make such a comment: WORDL is a very popular game hosted by the NY Times on their dedicated games app. You get six chances to guess the 5-letter word of the day. The app tells you on succeeding guesses which letters are somewhere in the word and which letters are positioned correctly. If you complete the word in six guesses or less, your streak continues. If not, you start over the next day. BUT, you can have more than one account to help you extend your streak. If you get to five guesses, rather than risk losing, you just go to Account #2 and continue until you solve it. You then enter the word back in your primary account and, Presto! You win! You solved it with your own brain, and you know you won because the NY Times said so. 

Unlike this place, WORDL does not post rankings or ratings or streaks. Only you know. Here, however, the intricate rating system and massive streaks by sincere, honest players are sullied by those who lose multiple times off-line before entering their correct solution.
